Cop Chokes Skateboarder

i agree with pzza75 on this one. kids giving cheek to an officer of the law is exactly the reason why there are so many unruly "chavs" these days. not so long ago, you'd get a smack around the ear for getting cheeky with cops. the less cops actually are allowed to do to show authority, the more unruly little shits like this just do what they want.

ok, so they might have not given attitude - the video isn't clear about that apart from lots of grinning - but they were breaking the law. simply chasing them off is not good enough.

if you try and nick a car, but get caught trying to open the door, your reckon the policeman is just gonna chase you off? nope, didnt think so. skateboarding here was obviously made illegal for a reason, and they did not respect that.

Simple remedy to the whole situation: Obey the law. Do what the officer says; when he says it. If you fight or resist and get hurt during the incident, you got what you deserve. While it appears he choked the kid, did you watch the whole video and see their defiance and all the other commotion of resisting to comply? The law has the right to do whatever is necessary to resolve a serious incident and protect others. Skateboarding is not a crime, but when it's done by 10 kids in a public area, bouncing off walls and over tables...it's a hazard. Skate where it won't cause probs for others. And enjoy yourself.

The cop was on a EGO trip from hell. Wrong attitude to have when you work for the public,but the kid's were pushing his buttons.

Well I believe there are two types in this world...people like this cop who believe two wrongs make a right, and then the other type, who would be smart enough to see that this situation is obviously abusive. Is choking and hurting and threatening a child, not only male but female as well, a good punishment for skateboarding??? Do you think it will make them 'learn a lesson' about the hazards of skateboarding??? The punishment doesn't fit the crime. They weren't out to physically harm the cop.

Besides, this just gives good cops a bad rep...this is how people end up hating cops and aithority in general, and works against the wanted outcome. Chances are they'll just hate cops from then on out and resist authority more and more. If I were that kid's parent I'd sue the living hell out of that county's police department. That guy didn't have to be that rough with the little guy, he knows he could have snapped him in half with one arm tied behind his back if he wanted to, and it sure did look like he wanted to.

i see that my tax dollars are hard at work...thank god that those unruly kids are off the streets...so that the local crack dealers and pimps can concentrate on raping the country
