Welcome to my eBay auction for the last 1,000 pixels of advertising space on my world-famous site, MillionDollarHomepage.com

You may have seen some of the international media coverage that my site has recently received, including: CNN, Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, MSNBC, ABC News, Fox News, BBC, MSN, Yahoo!... the list goes on - a long way. I've already sold 999,000 pixels of advertising space on MillionDollarHomepage.com, but due to exceptionally high demand for pixels I decided to do the most logical thing and auction the final 1,000 pixels right here on eBay.

At the time of writing, MillionDollarHomepage.com has received over 1.5 million unique visitors and over 2.7 million page impressions in the last 7 days alone, leading to huge exposure and click-throughs for the advertisers on the homepage. Considering the site will be online for the next 5 years guaranteed, the long-term value of advertising on my site is immense (but remember my aim is to keep it online for decades to come - like an internet time capsule). At the time of writing, Alexa.com ranks my site 127th out of ALL websites on the internet. This is your last chance to literally own a piece of 'internet history'!

The winning bidder will not only win last 1,000 pixels on the homepage, they will also receive a huge amount of publicity associated with winning this eBay auction and my site finally reaching the million dollar mark. I will also mention the winning bidder on my blog, which is read by tens of thousands of people every day. This truely is a unique, one-off, hugely valuable marketing opportunity. Happy bidding!

PS. The last 1,000 pixels are a 50x20 pixel block located at co-ordinates 55,27 on the homepage, which is a prime location in the top-half of the page. You can see the space highlighted in the second image attached to this auction.


Terms and Conditions


The auction is open to pre-approved, serious bidders only. This means you must contact me prior to bidding in order to be added to the list of pre-approved bidders. To be added, e-mail ********* with the following details:


Your name
Your company name
Your address
Your phone number(s)
Your e-mail address
Your eBay id
The URL you would like your pixels to link to if you win the auction


For the winning bidder, payment must be made by priority wire payment directly into my bank account. Funds must be fully received and cleared before your pixels will go live on the homepage. Wire payment details will be given to the winning bidder upon completion of the auction. Funds must be sent within 24hrs of auction ending otherwise the pixels will be offered to the next highest bidder.
The final bid amount for the pixels is a one-time fee, there are no recurring charges ever
When you 'buy' my pixels you will not 'own' any part of the homepage or this site, but rather you are granted the right to submit an image and link which will then be published on the homepage in the respective space you have paid for
You cannot change the image or link once you have submitted them, so you must be sure of the image & link you want on the homepage, which will be there for at least 5 years
You may not sub-let or re-sell your pixels
The winning bidder will not be able to get a refund once payment has been made and pixels uploaded
The site and homepage will be online for a guaranteed 5 years (starting from the day it launched), so at least until 26th August 2010. However the aim is to keep the site online for decades to come, like a permanent internet 'time capsule' that could one day become a famous piece of modern art!
No obscene/offensive/pornographic/inappropriate links will be accepted, and I decide what is appropriate for my site
If your link is accepted and you later change the content of the linked site to show offensive/obscene/pornographic/inappropriate material then your link will be removed until you provide a new one, and you will not get a refund of any kind for the link downtime
If for whatever reason in the future you want your image and link removed from the homepage, you can do that, but you will not get a refund and the space will become publicly available again
Your image must be exactly 50x20 pixels in size (1,000 pixels in total)
Your image must be provided in GIF or JPEG format, and a reasonable file size
Your image must NOT be animated (imagine how messy the homepage would look)
Your link must be to a web page only and begin with http:// or https://
You can provide ALT/TITLE text that appears when your pixels are hovered over. This text must be 50 characters or less.
You must have the authority to provide the image and link for the website you submit
There might be occasional downtime for site maintenance but I'll try and keep these to a minimum
